Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico. None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
(Acts 5:12-16 ESV)
God desires to be known to us. That is why He made a world full of human beings and this is why He sent His Son to redeem us. He wants to be known in His compassion, in His mercy and in all His wonderful attributes.
When we ask for the power of God we should ask with this in mind. Often we ask Him for things that have little to do with Him or furthing His mission. Sometimes we treat God as our heavenl butler, requestion this or that. I do believe that while God is always open to whatever we ask Him, there is an agenda in His answers. God wants a deeper relationship with us. Imagine that.
God works powerfully and visibly, He wants us to get together and share our experiences. When the Spirit fills us with love and awe, we want to share that with the world.
This week lets get caught up in God. Lets focus on our relationship with Him and His church. God bless all...have a wonderful week!
